As I'm sure you know, a tryptych is a 3-panel altar-piece. In French, it often gets used for something consisting of 3 connected elements. Here, those appear to be:
a) the diagram/schema
b) component-placing
c) the "autoroutage"
If it's software, volet is often a window, or, more accurately, a panel within a window - what it is here would depend on how generally precise your author is with technical terms

pane or section are alternatives for panel.
Other than using triptych itself, which might be acceptable especially if all 3 panels/panes appear on screen at once (taking up a third each, for instance), I'm struggling for a good single-word English equivalent...

Possible get round (I always try to avoid this word like the plague) very rough, but you'll get the idea:
The procedure consists of passing (or just "we move from" - depends what style you're using) from the diagram to the placing of components before then attacking/starting the "autoroutage". Each time, a new panel is opened (or "we open a new panel") for the appropriate operation/operation concerned/design phase(?) involved.

folder pane
Take a look at this:

This article applies to Thunderbird and Mozilla Suite.
Normally the folder pane, showing all your accounts and their various folders, should be displayed on the left-hand side of the main window. If for some reason you do not see the folder pane there, it is probably because you inadvertently closed it. To bring it back, just move your cursor to the far left side of the window until it changes into a double-headed arrow (?), and then drag the bar to the right. Mozilla Suite users can pop open the folder pane by simply clicking on the "grippy" in the middle of the bar at the left edge of the window.
For Thunderbird users, the grippies extension will give you the same grippies found in Mozilla Suite, so that you can toggle open/shut the folder pane, preview pane, etc. at a single click.

: no problem with "pane" (as I've suggested it myself!), but "folder" I'm not sure about, it doesn't *appear* to fit entirely with the context....
