English term

hold on to your corn-cob pipe

English Art/Literary Cinema, Film, TV, Drama Married... With Children
Marcy comes in to let Al know that she and her women's group will protest Kelly's doing a commercial for Ice Hole beer.

AL:
And since men buy beer, advertisers have to cater to what we want. And… ***hold onto your corn cob pipe***… we like pretty women. Ergo, pretty women sell good products. Ugly women sell… tennis rackets. Pretty women, cars. Ugly women, mini vans. Pretty women make us buy beer. Ugly women make us drink beer.

MARCY:
And if you were any more of a pig, kids would be putting coins in your back.

Thank you for your explanation.

And it was MINT. One tear in the fiberglass fender, but other than that, man it was nice. I bought it for -hold on to your corn cob pipe- 2000 bucks! ...

Hello Mark :-)
agree jccantrell : Yes, but it is sarcastic as that part really isn't that shocking at all, if you know the series.

agree Kari Foster : Haven't seen the episode, but if the Ice Hole beer commercial happens to feature a snowman as well, Al might have chosen this expression with reference to Frosty the Snowman "with his corn cob pipe" etc. Just a long shot!
