English term

annex

Non-PRO English Other Linguistics abbreviation
How is the word "annex" shortened in English (i.e. "Please refer to Annex II")?
Do you by any chance know an online resource for finding abbreviations of common words in English?

Thanks in advance
Chiara

Thank you Jack, I'll use them in the future (didn't know the "Free Dictionary" one)
Jack Doughty May 4, 2007:
Acronym Finder, as quoted by Alison - http://www.acronymfinder.com/ is probably the best known abbreviations list.
Another good one is in the Free Dictionary: http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/ as part of a very useful reference site.

we use Appendix in U.S. English (App)

annex. The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition. 2000.
...addition, such as an appendix, that is made to a record or other document

Thank you for your clarification

agree Jack Doughty : I think appendix is more common in UK English too. We also use schedule and supplement.
