English term

the mix and match

English Other Marketing
Diversity defines the health and wealth of nations in a new century. Mighty is the mongrel. The hybrid is hip. The impute, the melange, the adulterated, the belimished, the rough, the black and blue, the mix and match - these people are inheriting the earth. Mixing is the new norm. Mixing trumps isolation. It spawns creativity, nourishes the human spirit, spurs economic groth and empowers nations.

Mixing and matching is a term in fashion and design, used to describe putting stripes w/plaid

Mixing and matching is a term in fashion and design, used to describe the new acceptability of putting stripes with plaids or polka dots which would have been unthinkable last century, or it was only done in fun. That which is mixed (doesn't really go together) and that which is matched (goes together).

these are loose descriptions, slightly artsy, to give a feel for what he is calling the hybrid, the mongrel, the melange (a mix).
I would say that this new way of thinking is the opposite of the historic view of purity and pure nationality, as we might have seen in British and French aristocracy. Then, it was considered the highest, the best, the strongest. Now, due to genetics and the addition of diversity in business settings, it has been found, contrary to previous thought, that we, as a people become stronger when we integrate new and different ideas, when we couple races and ethnicities.

Hi Rita, that is really helpful and pretty much close to what I found through www.answers.com, still the real challenge for me is how to relate this as a characteristic or attribute of "these people are inheriting the earth".
